Audi becomes first car maker to test self-driving cars in New York, Cuomo announces

Audi was the first car maker to win approval for testing under a provision included in New York’s most recent budget that authorized a year-long testing program for autonomous driving technology.

"This emerging technology has the potential to decrease accidents and save lives on our roadways, and with this approval we are one step closer to a safer and stronger New York for all,” Cuomo said.
